About Me

My face!Hey. My name is John Shafto. I’m a twenty-year-old practicing professional photographer, cinematographer, and animator. I try my hardest to balance my creativity and technical precision in an effort to create things not yet seen by the world. I’d like to focus my career on advertising, and maybe one day film. My goal is to inspire awe and grasp the attention of my viewer.

I like Bright Eyes, Wes Anderson, Kurt Vonnegut, lomography, and 64-count boxes of crayon. Not eight. Not sixteen. I need that sharpener in the back. In my spare time I enjoy longboarding, lock picking, developing my friends’ websites, rescuing kittens from trees, and traveling. I want to go everywhere. My wanderlust is occasionally overpowering. As is my desire to use alliteration.

I am from South Dakota, but I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve lived here and attended an advertising school called The Creative Circus for nearly two years. I’m almost done. I have no idea where I’ll be living, what I’ll be doing, or who I’ll be with in a year, but I’m okay with that. I’m just going to take life one day at a time. Carpe diem, and all that jazz. Please enjoy my work. I look forward to working with you.
